Pick your C4SH path in 30 seconds
If you are here from search and just need the answer: start Chaos Walking for a first playthrough, move to Luck of the Draw when you want card and elemental cycling, and test Roll the Bones once you are building around totems, Jinx setups or co-op utility.
- Solo campaign: Chaos Walking, because Cross-Fire is direct and easy to evaluate.
- Boss farming: Chaos Walking or Luck of the Draw, depending on whether your weapon or element rolls are stronger.
- Co-op support: Roll the Bones, especially if your team wants utility and skill-damage windows.
Quick C4SH starter build
C4SH is built around Fortune stacks and Windfall. Start with a tree that makes your rotation obvious. If you do not know which one to pick, start with Chaos Walking because Cross-Fire gives you direct gun pressure and easy feedback: aim, shoot, refresh, repeat.
- Chaos Walking: best first tree for players who want gun damage, crit pressure and a simple bossing loop.
- Luck of the Draw: pick this when you want card effects, elemental damage and cooldown cycling.
- Roll the Bones: pick this for totems, Jinx setups, co-op utility and skill-damage scaling.
C4SH skill tree priority
Early points should go into skills that work before your gear is perfect: Fire Rate, Critical Hit Damage, Health Regeneration, Gun Damage, Cooldown Rate and Windfall uptime. The official C4SH page lists three trees, Chaos Walking, Luck of the Draw and Roll the Bones, and notes that names and numbers can still change.
In plain terms: do not build around one exact number yet. Build around the loop you can feel in combat. More uptime, more crits, more Fortune, less downtime.
C4SH Action Skills and what makes him different
C4SH has three Action Skills, and they all lean on chance and risk-reward:
- Cross-Fire — the Chaos Walking pick; direct gun pressure and the easiest skill to read while you learn the character.
- Sleight of Hand — a card-style skill that fits the Luck of the Draw side of the kit.
- Cleromancy — a "cast the bones" skill that fits the Roll the Bones side of the kit.
The biggest structural difference: C4SH has no capstones. Instead, all three trees grant Devil's Tines, a passive that adds an Augment slot — so C4SH can run up to four Augments at once. That rewards spreading points for Augment flexibility rather than rushing a single capstone. You can plan point-by-point in the skill tree planner.
C4SH class mod priority
The first useful class mod is the one that changes your rotation. Raw stat bumps are fine, but players should look for effects that create a loop: action skill gives damage, kills refund cooldown, cooldown enables another burst. That loop is what makes a build feel real.
- Keep: cooldown refund, crit chain, grenade refund, kill-sustain, ammo return.
- Test: conditional damage that depends on shields being full or health being low.
- Shard: small single-stat rolls that do not change your rotation.
Release date and naming
The official stylized name is C4SH. Search engines also show "Cash" because players type what they hear. We use both terms so players can find the guide, but the site labels the character as C4SH where it matters.
When to use this over the build planner
Use this page when you want a practical leveling answer. Use the Build Planner when you want to save and share a point-by-point setup. Once the C4SH tree is stable in our data set, this page will link directly to starter, co-op and boss-farming planner URLs.
What to farm after your build works
Once the loop feels stable, move from theorycrafting to repeatable boss routes. Use Subjugator and Thol for the newest raid loot, Bloomreaper for Rainmaker and Mantra routes, and the weapon database to compare drop sources before spending a full session on one farm.
FAQ
Is it C4SH or Cash? The official name is C4SH. We mention Cash because many players search phonetically, but the build advice uses the official name.
Which tree should new players start? Chaos Walking is the simplest first answer because it rewards normal gunplay while you learn the class mechanics.
Why no capstone route? C4SH does not use normal capstones. Devil's Tines adds Augment flexibility, so the better route is usually a stable loop plus the Augments your gear can support.
When should I respec? Respec when your class mod changes the rotation, not when one passive number looks slightly larger. The goal is a smoother loop, not a prettier tooltip.
